This will feature a small selection of players from the main body of the orchestra together with Martin Roscoe as soloist, in works by Strauss, Mendelssohn, Beethoven & Mozart.
Smetana, Dvořák & Beethoven
The second concert in our 46th season, which features music by Beethoven in his bicentennial year, alongside music by Smetana and Dvořák. Our soloist in the Dvořák cello concerto will be the wonderful Jessica Burroughs
Lancaster, Lyadov, Strauss & Tchaikovsky
The third concert in our 46th Season sees a welcome return of Annemarie Federle in Strauss's second horn concerto. A recent composition by local composer David Lancaster opens the concert, followed by an orchestral Mazurka by Lyadov. Tchaikovsky's powerful 4th symphony brings the concert to a close.
