Will Clark

Born and raised in York, Will Clark is currently studying for their Bachelor of Music at the Royal Academy of Music with Jack Liebeck. At age 14 Will achieved a distinction in Grade 8 violin and a distinction in ABRSM performance diploma (ARSM) at 15. They spent 3 years in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and was appointed as leader of the orchestra for the summer 2021 concert in London’s Royal Festival Hall. Will is also a member of York Guildhall Orchestra and has appeared playing first violin in their concerts. They have played in major concert halls up and down the UK including The Barbican, Leeds Town Hall and The Royal Albert Hall performing with a variety of youth orchestras and professional soloists such as Nicola Benedetti, Francesca Dego and Wynton Marsalis. Will has toured across Europe, performing in Berlin with NYO, was leader of the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra including their tour of Italy and most recently was appointed principal second of the World Chamber Youth Orchestra for their tour of Bulgaria. Over their first year of living in London, Will has recorded for a silent film at Abbey Road Studios and for the debut album of the duo “Jockstrap” at The Church Studios. By night, Will also works as a drag artist in London hosting at The Box Soho under the name “Anna Cruzis”. Will is grateful to York Children’s Trust for the help in purchasing their violin and EMI for the generous grant towards the purchase of Will’s bow.
