Sarah Winn

Sarah recently completed her studies as a Scholarship Student at the Royal Northern College of Music. While at the College Sarah obtained a Postgraduate Certificate and a Master of Music with distinction, under the tutelage of Hilary Summers. She was also awarded the Annie Ridyard Award, the Chris Petty English Song Prize, Leverhulme Trust Scholarship and was a finalist in both the Frederic Cox Prize and The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss. Sarah is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, but completed her Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium in Australia. While at the conservatorium, Sarah was awarded the Linda Edith Allen award for achieving the highest performance grade in her year level and the Doreen Ord & Lyceum Club Prize for Classical Voice. ​ Sarah has performed the roles of The Composer in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Béatrice in Berlioz’s Beatrice et Bénédict, Prince Orlofsky in Strauss' Fledermaus, the Chinese Cup and The Dragonfly in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Aloès in Chabrier’s L’etoile, and most recently Julia Bertram in Jonathan Dove's Mansfield Park. This is along with excerpts as Jo March in Adamo’s Little Women, Lucretia in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia and Rosette in Massenet’s Manon.
