Henry Strutt

Henry Strutt is a tenor studying for a Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music with Peter Wilson. In 2023 Henry completed an MMus in Vocal Studies and Opera with Distinction, also at the RNCM, and in 2020 he graduated from the University of York with a First Class Honours degree in Music, where he was also awarded the David Blake Prize for ‘Distinguished Contributions to the University Orchestra’ (Viola). After his undergraduate degree, Henry enjoyed singing as a Lay Clerk at New College Oxford, and successfully enrolled onto The Sixteen’s Young Artist programme, The Genesis Sixteen 2020/21. Recent opera credits include singing as a Young Artist in the Buxton International Festival in 2022 and 2023. Operatic Roles at the RNCM include Der Tenor and Ein Offizier (Prologue of Ariadne auf Naxos), Don Curzio”(Le nozze di Figaro), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), and Henry Crawford (Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park). Henry also performed as Basilio”(Le nozze di Figaro) and Bardolfo (Verdi’s Falstaff) as part of The RNCM’s 50th Anniversary Opera Gala with the Orchestra of Opera North. Henry is incredibly grateful that his studies are supported by the José and Rafton Smallwood Award, and the Jacob Marsland Award.
