The City of York Guildhall Orchestra is delighted to be assisted by the sponsorship agreement with BT.   They became a corporate sponsor to the orchestra for our 1999 series of concerts, an association renewed again in 2001.

At the commencement of their sponsorship in 1999, BT Corporate Affairs Manager Craig Chadburn said:

"BT is delighted to be supporting the City of York Guildhall Orchestra for a second time.  BT now operates in many countries around the world, however first and foremost it is a UK business backed by UK people.  Many of these people are here in York and this includes over 800 BT employees.

"BT is committed to supporting both the economy and community within York, and it is my hope that this sponsorship will lead to an increase in commercial support for an orchestra whose excellence should make the City of York proud"

Of a recent concert, Irene Gorsden Local Campaign Manager, North of England BT Corporate Relations, said:

"We enjoyed working with you on the event.  Your ace is the orchestra itself - the concert was everything a sponsor could wish for, enhanced by the sociability of the orchestra members who joined us afterwards."
