The first concert in this season features a full programme of popular favourites for both orchestra and choir – individually and combined.

It will be a delight for the orchestra to welcome Will to perform Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending with us – their first outing as a soloist with the orchestra, although they have played with us before as a youngster in the first violin section.

We are also joined by our old friends, Leeds Festival Chorus for several pieces; they will perform some favourites such as Song for Athene (which Sir John Tavener wrote for the funeral of Princess Diana) and the jazzy Rio Grande by Constant Lambert.

The concert ends with the foot stomping Danzón No.2 by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, where our percussionists can really let their hair down!

Please note that whilst we will endeavour to perform the concert as shown, the orchestra reserves the right, without prior notice, to amend the concert date, concert programme, soloist and ticket pricing should circumstances require
